In 2012, the Friends of the Bucks County Historical Society will celebrate 45 years of making contributions, in a variety of ways, to support and promote the mission of the Mercer Museum and Library & Fonthill Castle. With an interest in history, culture, and the arts, the Friends of BCHS are a volunteer auxiliary organization that sponsors educational programs for the public and a variety of fundraisers to support projects at our museums. These entertaining programs are presented at quarterly meetings, usually held on the third Monday in March, May, September, and November. Friends of BCHS meetings begin with dessert and conversation at 12:30 p.m., followed by a short business meeting and the featured program. This is a good time to meet others who share a similar interest in history. Bus trips are scheduled in the Spring and Fall to explore additional places of historical and cultural interest.
Among the many projects funded in recent years, the Friends of BCHS have purchased equipment needed for educational programs and exhibitions, sponsored short-term internships, underwritten entertainment for Fonthill’s Fourth of July Celebration, and provided awards at the Bucks-Mont National History Day competition for secondary school students in our region.
Annual dues in the Friends of BCHS is $15 per person, in addition to your Mercer Museum & Fonthill Castle annual membership. For information, please call 215-345-0210, ext. 132, or use the form below.

When you join the Mercer Associate Business Members of the Bucks County Historical Society, you let your customers, employees, neighbors, family and friends know that you recognize the importance of supporting culture and history in the community where you work and live.
As a Mercer Associate, you help to preserve the unique resources that are the Mercer Museum and Library and Fonthill Castle -- buildings and collections that are an essential part of the cultural fabric of the Delaware Valley. They promote education, tourism and a quality of life we all appreciate. Your annual membership ensures that the doors of our National Historic Landmarks will be open for the next group of visitors and generations to come.
Along with our thanks, your business contribution will be recognized in several ways. Special tile markers with the names of business sponsors are displayed in the Gemmill Pavilion of the Mercer Museum. You will receive an attractive plaque with a tile marker to display at your place of business. Your company name will appear in regular published lists of business sponsors, including the BCHS Annual Report, and you will receive a VIP pass that admits up to four people at a time to visit our museums.
