Children and parents explore Henry Mercer’s castle from basement to tower and learn about Mercer’s creative ideas through stories and prints. This year, our annual beer tasting event offers Old World charm with a modern twist in the spectacular outdoor setting of Fonthill. Add to your knowledge of brewing history, courtesy of David April of Philadelphia Brewing Company who will explain the main styles of German beer, along with the history of brewing in Germany, the brewing process and the typical ingredients used.  Guests will enjoy a tutored beer tasting of German beers featuring lagers, bocks, wheat beer, pils, and helles, and taste German fare by Newportville Inn, Cabot Cheese and more while listening to music performed by the Philadelphia German Brass Band. Keystone Homebrew Supply will also be on-hand providing samples of their beers and instructions on homebrewing.  The event is $40/$34 for members and registration is required.  To register, call 215-345-0210, ext. 123.
