Fonthill Woodlands Project

Fonthill Castle, and the land on which it sits, is a wonderful community treasure. This national historic landmark is a premier destination where people can explore art, history, and nature.

As a community, we have been entrusted to care for this extraordinary gift Henry Mercer left for all to enjoy, explore, and nurture.

The Fonthill Woodlands Project is an ongoing initiative to support and enhance the property’s historical, ecological, recreational, and cultural benefits.

As stewards of this special 69-acre site—and with the help of our community—we have cleared trails, removed fallen trees, enhanced garden beds, cleaned the reflection pond and installed new plantings around its perimeter, and removed all graffiti and spray paint on the Little House in the Woods.

Donations to benefit this important initiative sustain ongoing grounds work and care. Please donate today, and help us continue our commitment to this natural gem.
