2019 Information


Theme

Every year National History Day® frames students’ research within a historical theme. The theme is chosen for the broad application to world, national, or state history and its relevance to ancient history or to the more recent past. The 2019 theme is Triumph & Tragedy in History.

How to Enter

Before entering the Bucks and Montgomery Counties’ Regional Contest, you will want to read the rules and obtain some background information from the official National History Day website.

Once you are ready to submit your application for the Bucks and Montgomery Counties’ Regional Contest, visit the regional contest website.

TEACHERS – Please note that teachers must register themselves before any students will be able to register.

STUDENTS – After teachers have registered, students can register individually. If students are part of a group project, the first student to register in the group will receive a project ID to send to remaining group members.

DEADLINE – Registration closes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019.

WEBSITES – Website Weebly IDs must be submitted to the Bucks Mont Regional Contest website and will lock for judging by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019.

PAPERS – Papers must be uploaded to the Bucks Mont Regional Contest website in PDF form and will lock for judging by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019.

PAYMENTS – The registration fee is $12 per student and can be paid in cash or check. Payments may be delivered or mailed and postmarked by February 15, 2019.

All checks are made payable to the BUCKS COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

To deliver, please drop-off payment at the Mercer Museum, located at 84 S Pine Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 at the intersection of Pine Street and Scout Way, Mondays through Fridays, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

ROLLO'S FACTS

There are 44 rooms in Fonthill including 10 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms and 18 fireplaces. Completed in 1910 Fonthill boasted modern conveniences- 2 dumbwaiters, an Otis elevator, an intercom buzzer system and phones to communicate within the house.
