Theme

 

Every year National History Day® frames students’ research within a historical theme. The theme is chosen for the broad application to world, national, or state history and its relevance to ancient history or to the more recent past. The 2020 theme is Breaking Barriers in History.

How to Enter the 2020 Buck Mont Regional Contest

Registration for the 2020 Bucks Mont Regional Contest now open.

Once you are ready to submit your application for the 2020 Bucks Mont Regional Contest, register at the Bucks Mont Regional Contest website.

TEACHERS – Please note that a teacher must be registered before any of their students can register.

STUDENTS – After your teacher has registered, you can register individually. If students are part of a group project, the first student to register from the group will receive the project ID to send to all remaining group members.

Please note: a group project will only have one project ID used by all the individual students in that group when registering.

DEADLINE – All registration for the 2020 Bucks Mont Regional Contest closes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2020.

PAYMENTS – The registration fee is $12 per student and can be paid in cash or check.

All checks should be made payable to the BUCKS COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY.

Payments may be delivered in person or postmarked by Monday, February 3, 2020.

In person:

Cash or check payments should be brought to the Mercer Museum at 84 S Pine Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. The parking lot entrance is on Scout Way, between Pine Street and Green Street.

Payments can be dropped off at the front desk of the museum, Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Category Options

WEBSITES – To compete in the website category, students must first register through the Bucks Mont Regional Contest website. 

All websites must be submitted to the Bucks Mont Regional Contest website by 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2020. No further changes can be made after this time.

PAPERS – To compete in the paper category, students must first register through the Bucks Mont Regional Contest website. 

All papers must be submitted as a PDF file to the Bucks Mont Regional Contest website by 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2020. No further changes can be made after this time.

EXHIBITS – To compete in the exhibit category, students must register through the Bucks Mont Regional Contest website.

Exhibits do not need to be submitted prior to the contest and will be judged in person at Del Val University on Saturday, March 28, 2020.

DOCUMENTARIES – To compete in the documentary category, students must register through the Bucks Mont Regional Contest website.

Documentaries do not need to be submitted prior to the contest and will be judged in person at Del Val University on Saturday, March 28, 2020.

PERFORMANCES – To compete in the performance category, students must register through the Bucks Mont Regional Contest website.
