Mercer’s Wizarding Academy
Monday-Friday, July 9-13 OR July 23-27 OR August 6-10, 9 am-
Calling all witches and wizards! Get sorted into your houses, prepare your wands, and get ready for classes in Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Care of Magical Creatures, Herbology, Quidditch and more. Come one, come all to earn (or lose) points for the House Cup!  Wizard dress is highly encouraged. This camp experience connects history, science, literature. Space is  limited.  Ages 7-12. $220/$195 members

Mercer’s Robotics Laboratories:  An Intriguing Blend of Robotics & Archaeology with a Twist of Imagination
Camps offer engagement in the STEM areas: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math; visits to the Mercer Museum to discover relevant collections; and fun projects corresponding with events in each “Mission.” Small, special “artifacts” are awarded to campers at mission completion.  $180/$160 members

LEGO Robotics FUNdamentals (The Secret Gold of Machu Picchu)
Monday-Friday, June 25-29, 1-4 pm OR July 30-August 3, 9 am-Noon
YOUR MISSION: From “la Cota d’lvoire” ride the howling cyclones west to where the “Mother of the Waters” meets the Atlantis Thalassa. … follow the code carvings of the Jaguar. … Ascend the terraced slopes to the dominion of “he who overturns space and time.” There you shall find the golden essence of “Inti.” For students who have completed grades 1-3, camp features enhanced LEGO WeDo Robotics projects, plus MIT’s SCRATCH programming in developing creatures & mechanisms.

LEGO Robotics Basics (Pharaoh Hatshepsut’s Crystal Mines of Kilimanjaro)
Monday-Friday, June 25-29, 9 am-Noon OR July 16-20, 1-4 pm OR August 13-17, 9 am-Noon
YOUR MISSION: The journey begins in the shadow of the Great Sphinx. Hieroglyphics at the temple of Hatshepsut reveal: “When the sun is in Leo follow the “Golden One” to the snow covered “Zenith of the South.” Beware the giant sand serpents of the  Olduvai Gorge…hold fast to your lapis lazuli charm….  For students who have completed grades 2-6, camp features LEGO Mechanical Devices Kits, plus MIT’s SCRATCH programming.

LEGO Robotics Intermediate (The Mystery of Ammonite’s Treasure)
Monday-Friday, July 16-20, 9 am-Noon OR July 30-August 3, 1-4 pm
YOUR MISSION: Flee the fumaroles-laced, quaking earth aboard your trireme, fight the stinging tentacled Hydras lurking just offshore, and follow the “Spiraling Waves.” The odyssey of the Minoan survivors begins!  For students who have completed grades 3-7. Campers use basic Arduino Modules & LEGO  Manufacturing Systems, MIT’s SCRATCH programming, and LEGO Mindstorms materials to develop autonomous robots.

LEGO Robotics Advanced (The Glint of the Dragon’s Eye)
Monday-Friday, August 13-17, 1-4 pm
YOUR MISSION: Begin at the “Harmonies of the Dragon’s Cave” on the Isle of Staffa, Scotia. In navigating the Firth of Lorne, tack past the fearsome kraken guarding the inlet to Loch Linnhe. In the shadow of Castle Arquartz receive the energy-focusing “Glint,” a reward from the Dragon of “Lasair agus Deigh.” For students who have completed grades 4-9. Campers use LEGO Mindstorms EV3, fundamental Arduino Modules, Maker & DIY Circuitry Modules, and MIT’s SCRATCH programming to create their own robot warriors.





“Lucy” the horse was part of the work crew that built both Fonthill and the Mercer Museum. She hoisted the loads of mixed concrete up to workers.
