As participants and spectators, Americans love racing. We race to compete and win, to improve ourselves, and master our machines, to find community with others and simply for fun, thrills and the love of spectacle. In this original exhibition, explore the colorful history of racing in Bucks County, PA and the Delaware Valley across four sports-motor racing, horse racing, foot racing and cycling, from the footraces of early Native Americans and colonists to the horse tracks and fairgrounds of the 1800’s, to the auto speedways and bicycle velodromes of the 20th century. Objects on view include original cars that once raced on local tracks, vintage cycling gear, harness racing sulkies, racing medals and trophies and more. Test out your skill and speed with some racing “try-its.” Throughout the spring and summer join us for the following racing programs:
