Photographic Rights and Reproductions

Images from the Mercer Museum and Library, and Fonthill Castle collections may be requested for personal use, research purposes, and both commercial and non-commercial forms of publication.

BCHS Rights & Reproductions Policy

Publication Fees

3-dimensional (museum artifacts) & 2-dimensional (library materials)

Non-commercial use: is defined as that which is clearly grounded in not-for-profit or scholarly activities, such as monographs, theses, dissertations, family histories, public exhibitions, personal study needs, etc.

Commercial use: is defined as any material used for a for-profit enterprise, or in any profit making venture, for the purpose of creating, illustrating, advertising, marketing or commemorating a product.

Public Relations use: is defined as any material used by an individual, organization or business which is deemed to have publicity, advertising, or marketing value for the Mercer Museum & Library and Fonthill Castle. *Fees for Public Relations use are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

The Mercer Museum & Library and Fonthill Castle grants non-exclusive rights for a one-time and one media use only. For more detail about our publication policies, please view our “Publication Rights Agreement Form.”

Please Note: The ordering and purchasing of images are for personal study use only and does not convey rights of use.

Please review the “Publication Rights Fee Schedule” for information regarding fees for publications and usage of rights.  All prices are per image and fees are subject to change without notice.  Please allow two weeks for completion of all photo orders. All orders must be pre-paid. Checks can be made out to the BCHS. We also accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover. Contact information is below.
