Photography at the Castles

Anyone who wishes to use the grounds of the Mercer Museum or Fonthill Castle for the purposes of staged photography must obtain a photo permit.

Staged photography includes, but is not limited to: family, maternity, engagement, birthday, costume, and professional headshots.

A photo permit is required for staged photography even if the photographer is NOT a professional.

 

Photo Permits for Individual, Engagement and Family Portraits (up to 8 people):

Rates for the Mercer Museum are:
Interior/Exterior- 1 hour permit $50

Interior/Exterior- 2 hour permit $100

Rates for Fonthill Castle are:
Exterior- 1 hour permit $50
Exterior- 2 hour permit $100

Photo Permits for Large Groups (9-20 people):
Exterior- 1 hour $150

Wedding Party Photography (up to 20 people):
Exterior- 1 hour $250

Larger group photography permits (20 people and above) will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Photo Permits are non-refundable. In the case of inclement weather, photo permits can be rescheduled depending upon availability and BCHS discretion.

• Until further notice: The elevator in the historic “Central Court” portion of the Mercer Museum will be *out of service* for major renovations.

You can still access Floors 2-7 of the historic museum via staircases.

• Wednesday, May 20: Mercer Museum will have a delayed opening. The museum will open at 1:00 p.m.

• Friday, May 22: Fonthill Castle will close early for a private event. The last tour will begin at 2:00 p.m.
