Did you know the Mercer Museum Research Library is a member of the POWER library? The POWER library is Pennsylvania’s electronic library. This statewide database makes library catalogs from across Pennsylvania accessible from a single website. Not only can you access the Mercer Museum Library’s book and pamphlet collection but you can find other libraries that may contain the answer to your research questions! Through this incredible resource you can access newspapers, magazines, journals, historical documents, online databases, and eBooks. The Access Pennsylvania Catalog is constantly being updated and currently contains 8.1 million titles. With over 43 million holdings, the Access Pennsylvania Catalog was the first, and largest, statewide library catalog in North America.

Black Freedom Struggle in the United States: A Selection of Primary Resources is provided at no cost to the POWER Library by ProQuest. It features select primary source documents related to critical people and events in African American history.
