To celebrate the Mercer Centennial,  a spoken word artist will perform in the dramatic atmosphere of the museum’s original Central Court.  Each performance features traditional and original tales linked to the museum’s history and collections.

In Henry Mercer, the Lenape Stone and the First Peoples of the Delaware Valley, travel back 10,000 years, to the end of the last great ice age, when the first people wandered into what is now Bucks County.  Storyteller and author Robin Moore begins the evening by recounting Henry Mercer’s discovery of the infamous “Lenape Stone,” purportedly depicting a prehistoric mastodon hunt. Using the stone as a portal, Moore explores – through demonstrations, hands-on interaction, and traditional Native American narratives – how early aboriginal peoples survived in a harsh environment.

Appropriate for  adults and youth ages 8 and up.  The program is followed by refreshments, an opportunity to meet the performer, and a chance to explore the museum.  To register for the program, call 215-348-9461.

The Twilight Tales Performance Series is generously sponsored by Marv and Dee Ann Woodall of Doylestown.
