In 2016, the Mercer Museum celebrated its centennial year. Built without blueprints and entirely from concrete by Henry Mercer, the castle-like museum is an eccentric and eclectic collection of American artifacts from the pre-industrial era and one of three unusual buildings Mercer constructed in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

You can still access Floors 2-7 of the historic museum via staircases.

• Saturday, June 6: Fonthill Castle will close early for a private event. The last tour will begin at 2:00pm.
