In 2016, the Mercer Museum celebrated its centennial year. Built without blueprints and entirely from concrete by Henry Mercer, the castle-like museum is an eccentric and eclectic collection of American artifacts from the pre-industrial era and one of three unusual buildings Mercer constructed in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Henry Mercer was 51 when he began building the first of his three concrete structures, his home Fonthill, 1908-1910.
